Rebekah Janzen

Rebekah is very proud of the work the Vancouver Island Performers Guild has accomplished since it’s inception in January 2017! Four fully staged productions, multiple concerts and Opera Pub nights. With her feet firmly planted in Victoria after living all over Southern BC, she is pleased to have worked with many of the performing arts groups in Victoria including the G&S Society in 2016 as Tessa in the Gondoliers, Variety Fare Broadway Revue 2015-2017, and the Pacific Opera Chorus since 2012 with 15 operas sung and counting. She is looking forward to many more Opera in a Box productions as VIPG grows and gains momentum!

Cheryl Pocklington

Cheryl completed advanced training with the Victoria Conservatory of Music (VCIM), Opera Studio program and studied for several years with the acclaimed Ms. Selena James in Victoria, BC. She made her professional opera debut singing the aria of Cupid in a 2009 POV production of Handel’s Semele. In 2013, she performed the role of Mrs. Sem in Noye's Fludde, by Britten. In 2014, she sang in the bridesmaid duet for POV's production of The Marriage of Figaro, Mozart. Since 2005, she has continued to appear with the Pacific Opera Victoria Chorus. She balances her artistic persona with her career in the mining industry and her most important role, as a wife and mother to two amazing boys

Jeremy Notheisz

Jeremy studied classical music as a boy soprano under the tutelage of Joan Thompson in Grand Forks, BC. His first soloist opportunity was singing “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables at the age of 12. Before age 16, he completed his Grade 10 RCM in Voice (First Class Honors w/ Distinction). He has since studied at the UVIC School of Music under the tutelage of Benjamin Butterfield. Jeremy has continuously worked over the past 10 years as a soloist in Victoria.

Jonathan Woodward

Jonathan Woodward has been regularly performing around Victoria since he first appeared in Blood Brothers with the Victoria Theater Guild. His first major operatic role came with the Victoria Gilbert and Sullivan Society as Robin Oakapple in their production of Ruddigore. He has since appeared as the Major General in The Pirates of Penzance, Strephon in Iolanthe and most recently as Giuseppe in The Gondoliers. Jonathan would like to thank his wife and kids for all their patience and support.

Haley Elliott

Some people call me bossy; I prefer to think of myself as aggressively helpful. VIPG has given me a home and taught me how to hone my rather specific talent. I have always had a great love and appreciation for the performing arts; but having a paralyzing fear of actually being on stage myself, stage managing is the closest to the magic I can get. And I would not trade a second of it. I cannot wait to see the next chaotic circus I get to help organize.
